Code of Conduct

Updated January 22, 2025

The Orbital Airways Code of Conduct should be adhered to by all pilots and administrators while a part of the virtual airline. It is a basis for mutual respect, smooth operations, and personal responsibility. Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct is grounds for temporary or permanent removal from Orbital Airways.

All pilots must adhere to the rules and regulations of any organization or entity they are participating in while flying the callsign of and/or representing Orbital Airways. Such organizations include, but are not limited to: VATSIM, IVAO, PilotEdge and any other online flight simulation networks. Members who intentionally or repeatedly violate these networks' policies, or act in any way a nuisance, may be terminated from our organization without warning.

Respect is the baseline for all we do. While disagreement is a reality of collaboration, Orbital Airways insists that its members show each other, the airline, and the general public due respect. This includes respecting the flight simulation community as a whole. Personal attacks, especially those based on a protected class, religion, sex, sexual orientation or identity, are especially prohibited and may result in permanent termination from Orbital Airways. Profanity and vulgarity should be kept to a minimum and never directed at other members.

While Orbital Airways supports all of its members' freedom of speech and expression, not all topics are suitable for discussion within our community. This includes political, conspiratorial, or other polarizing discussion. Discussions that are antithetical to the respect clause (above) are not permitted on Orbital Airways discussion media.

Orbital Airways is committed to the privacy of its members. No data should be disseminated outside of our secure pilot website without the express permission of staff. This policy particularly affects social media. If you're wondering whether something should be shared, then doing so may be violating someone's privacy -- please reach out to us beforehand.

Please do not spam or solicit products or services here at Orbital Airways. You are welcome to share your opinions about the countless add-ons and software programs in flight simulation; it is important, however, to avoid the "shameless plug" or spam-marketing of these add-ons.

Streamers and content creators are encouraged to showcase their participation in Orbital Airways, as long as it respects the privacy clause (above). Please receive prior approval before self-promoting or sharing your links with the membership, or only do so in designated pre-approved channels.

Intellectual property rights of software and add-on developers must be respected when sharing files via Orbital Airways. Please ensure you are permitted by the developer to do so when uploading liveries of aircraft, and are sharing only the files needed.

Obscene, graphic, pornographic or explicit content is not permitted on any Orbital Airways media.

Orbital Airways will comply with any court order or lawful request from law enforcement agencies. Members are expected to remain law-abiding within their home jurisdiction and any jurisdiction they visit while a member. Orbital Airways reserves the right to sever ties with anyone due to criminal proceedings or allegations, resolved or unresolved.

  • Orbital Airways reserves the right to terminate any member at any time for violation of this Code or other Orbital Airways policies, written or otherwise.
