goGB Digital Handbook - Initial Release

Welcome to the goGB Digital Handbook. We hope this handbook serves as your one-stop shop for all goGB policies and procedures to enable you to fly with us. You may, after reading this, have some follow up questions - or perhaps the handbook doesn't give you all the information you need. Please head to the Discord server where the goGB team will be able to answer your questions.

Introduction to goGB

Welcome to the goGB Group and thank you for choosing us as your next virtual airline. For you to get the most out of your goGB experience, we highly recommend our crew have a read through the digital handbook and familiarise themselves with our operating model, to avoid surprises later down the line! goGB is a brand-new fictional virtual airline group, mainly based in the United Kingdom. We operate a small fleet of Boeing 737-800s and Airbus A320-200s. goGB operate both passenger and cargo flights from select bases across the UK and Europe.

Staff Team

As a new virtual airline group, we have a small staff team. Jack is the goGB Operations Director and is responsible for the daily operations of the virtual airline. Jon Hawkes is our Fleet Manager, who is responsible for the safe maintenance and operation of our aircraft. We currently have a number of vacancies live on vAMSYS which we are expecting to fill over the course of the Summer, with an ambition to have a full team by Winter 2025/26. Head to the Staff Vacancies page on vAMSYS for more vacancy information and to apply.

Activity Requirements

There are no activity requirements at goGB. This includes rolling activity requirements and initial activity requirements. Summed up, this means there are no requirements for pilots to complete a specific number of PIREPs within a specific timeframe. The goGB staff team can review and amend this policy at any time, without notice.

Onboarding

Pilots can register to goGB at any time. Pilots, who haven't been permanently removed before, can re-join goGB at any time and they will be re-instated with their former 'GBVXXXX' username. goGB do not facilitate rank transfers. We ask that all pilots join the Discord community server.

Reward

One of the bonuses of goGB's operations is that we recognise bonus points as regular PIREP points, enabling pilots to climb the ranks faster. Points are also recognised for training flights. Throughout your career with us, you will be awarded for achieving various milestones. These may include celebrating your 1 year service, logging your first 50 PIREPs, or flying your first 10,000 miles. goGB's partners may, on occasion, run discounts or offer discounts to goGB pilots. These are awarded to pilots at the discretion of goGB staff and the vendor.

Fleet

Our A320-200 CEO aircraft may be a legacy version of the venerable A320, but these have been fully refitted and reset to as-new condition following their acquisition by the goGB Group. This includes an all-new interior with the latest in-flight entertainment, as well as both space and weight saving materials to support our drive for efficiency and affordability.

Our cargo fleet use Boeing's new BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) aircraft, which take existing passenger aircraft and covert them, alongside a full mechanical reset and whole-aircraft refurbishment. Selecting the 737BCF enables us to maximise cost savings and efficiencies, as well as leveraging the shared type rating for pilots operating both gogGB and goGB Cargo aircraft.

The Boeing 737 Next Generation, commonly known as B737 NG, were first launched in 1993. This aircraft type has well established itself as our core fleet. Acquired by goGB Group in 2023, all our Boeing 737-800 aircraft have received the goGB exterior and interior design, including modern in-flight entertainment, efficiencies as well as the ability to convert to BCF when required to support goGB Cargo operations.
