1. Membership Requirements

1.1. All members must be at least 16 years old to join FlySafair Virtual.
1.2. Members must possess a valid copy of a flight simulation software (such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, or others).
1.3. Pilots are required to have a basic understanding of aviation principles and must pass an initial entrance test or practical check ride.
1.4. Members must sign up with their real name or a suitable callsign that aligns with professionalism.
1.5. Only one account per user is allowed. Duplicate or fraudulent accounts will be terminated.

2. Flight Conduct

2.1. Pilots are expected to conduct flights with realism, adhering to real-world aviation procedures where possible.
2.2. Flights must be flown manually or with autopilot but not with time acceleration.
2.3. Members must use proper flight planning tools to ensure accuracy in routes, fuel calculations, and weather planning.
2.4. All flights must be completed within the aircraft's operational limits, following correct speeds, altitudes, and fuel management.
2.5. Flights must be logged via the virtual airline’s system (like ACARS) to ensure proper recording of hours.
2.6. FlySafair Virtual encourages use of online networks like VATSIM or IVAO for ATC and multiplayer experience. While not mandatory, proper radio communication and professionalism are encouraged.

3. Fleet and Routes

3.1. Pilots are only allowed to fly aircraft from the FlySafair Virtual fleet or those leased by the VA.
3.2. FlySafair Virtual's current fleet includes:

  • Boeing 737-800

  • Boeing 737-400

3.3. Members are expected to fly on FlySafair’s real-world routes or virtual airline-generated routes.
3.4. Any non-standard or charter flight requires approval from VA staff.

4. Ranking System

4.1. Pilots will start at the Trainee rank and progress to Senior Captain based on logged hours.

  • Trainee: 0 - 10 hours

  • First Officer: 10 - 50 hours

  • Senior First Officer: 50 - 100 hours

  • Captain: 100+ hours

  • Senior Captain: 250+ hours

4.2. Promotions are based on logged hours, professionalism, and adherence to flight realism standards.

4.3. Pilots are able to transfer their hours from other virtual airlines by applying to the administrative staff of the FlySafair Virtual. Proof of hours will need to be provided.

5. Online Etiquette

5.1. Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally on all platforms representing FlySafair Virtual, including forums, Discord servers, and flight simulation networks.
5.2. Disrespectful behavior, inappropriate language, or harassment will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary actions, including suspension or expulsion from the VA.
5.3. Members should help and support each other to foster a welcoming and inclusive community.

6. Activity and Inactivity

6.1. Pilots must fly at least one flight per month to remain an active member of the VA.
6.2. Members who do not fly within 30 days without notifying the staff of a reason (e.g., personal leave, holidays) will be considered inactive and may have their accounts suspended.
6.3. Reinstatement after inactivity will require reapplying to the VA or requesting administrative review.

7. Realism and Immersion

7.1. FlySafair Virtual strives for realism in flight operations, but it is not intended to be stressful. Pilots are encouraged to enjoy the flying experience.
7.2. Real-world emergencies and malfunctions should be handled in the flight simulation environment as realistically as possible, including communication with ATC and following emergency procedures.
7.3. FlySafair Virtual may implement special events and challenges that simulate real-world airline conditions (e.g., bad weather, fuel shortages).

8. Disciplinary Actions

8.1. Breaking the rules or repeated unprofessional behavior will lead to warnings, suspension, or expulsion from FlySafair Virtual.
8.2. Actions like cheating on flight hours, violating ATC procedures, or flying recklessly in online airspaces will result in immediate review.
8.3. Appeals on any disciplinary actions must be made in writing to the VA staff within 7 days of the ruling.

9. Communication Channels

9.1. The primary communication channel for FlySafair Virtual is its official Discord server and website forums.
9.2. Important announcements, updates, and events will be shared via these platforms, and members are required to stay up-to-date.
9.3. Members are encouraged to participate in community discussions and give feedback on the VA’s operations.

10. Events and Competitions

10.1. FlySafair Virtual will host regular events such as group flights, landing competitions, and long-haul challenges.
10.2. Participation in these events is optional, but pilots who do so can earn bonus hours or special awards.
10.3. FlySafair Virtual may collaborate with other virtual airlines for joint events.
