This document is ever-changing and is subject to the use of the members and staff of Atlantic Virtual Airways.

v 1.0

SECTION I:

Company Structure

Founder/CEO

Vice President of Flight Network Operations

Vice President of Human Resources

Director of Information Systems

Director of Branding & Marketing

Crew Base Manager

Pilot Group

SECTION II:

Flight Policies & Requirements

Age Requirement

All pilots must be 18 years or older to be hired by the company. This age limit matches the age limit of vAMSYS, our service provider; we do not accept parental permission as an exception to the age limit. A link to the vAMSYS Terms and Conditions can be found in Section 2.05 (a).

Minimum Pilot Requirements/Qualifications

Like many virtual airlines, the company requires minimum qualifications in order to be considered for hiring at Atlantic Airways. They are as follows:

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, (We do not support FSX, P3D, XPLANE, or 2024 as we do not have company liveries for these platforms)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Valid and active email address.

  • Experience with third-party apps. (Discord, IG, etc.).

  • Reading and understanding of the Pilot Handbook.

Pilot Interview Process

All applicants shall have a valid email address as this is the primary means of communication. All applicants will be interviewed via a submitted application. Please note that all applicants will not necessarily be accepted.  The company has a screening process, and the Human Resources Department will evaluate each potential candidate and render a decision where the applicant will be notified via email. We do this to keep our operation manageable and sustainable with minimal staff.

Transfer Hours

Like in the real world, all new pilots, regardless of experience, will begin at ZERO (0) hours with the company. Any transfer hours and/or real-world flight hours are simply a benchmark for analysis of your past virtual pilot experience.

Good Standing Policy

All pilots hired at Atlantic Airways must be in good standing from their current and/or former VA.  Pilots shall not have any record of conduct on the VASTIM network and/or at their former or current VA. We expect everyone to represent the company and the flight sim community at the highest level. Any reports of conduct will result in immediate termination with the company and will never be considered for rehire.

vAMSYS ACARS Platform/Technical Issues

Atlantic has chosen vAMSYS as their flight reporting platform. This allows for ease of manageability and pilot development, but lacks customization within the VA. The VA can do very little in the way of technical issues or customization.  Any issue that cannot be handled in-house will need to be forwarded to the team at vAMSYS, which your Crew Base Manager can do for you.  Any staff member can do this by submitting a ticket on their website https://vamsys.co.uk/

SECTION III:

Flight Standards & Training

Crew Bases

Pilots are not assigned to a crew base with the vAMSYS system. Pilots will only be required to select a “starting hub” on initial login. Pilots are not limited to only fly within their initial selected hub.

Rank

All pilots shall begin as the rank of IOE (Initial Operating Experience) and gradually work their way through the ranks. All pilots may fly any aircraft that is approved regardless of rank. We are privy to the fact that flight sim is a hobby, and pilots can move up the rank quickly.

Flights

As in the real world, Atlantic does not assign pilot IDs to use for flight operations therefore all flights will be conducted under the flight number(s) within the selected vAMSYS schedules. Your pilot ID is for administrative purposes only and cannot be changed. All flights shall be conducted under IFR operations. Pilots shall use the airline’s three-letter identifier (ATL, COD) and flight number listed in the schedule to conduct all flight operations. Our radio call sign is “ATLANTIC” for ATL flights and “COD” for charter flights.

 Flight Reports

To receive credit for your completed flight, all pilots are required to use the Pegasus ACARS application. This can be downloaded via the pilot dashboard on the Resources tab. Manual PIREPs/liveries will be approved at the discretion of the Crew Base Manager.

Online Flying

Pilots may use any ATC platform they wish for.  VATSIM, IVAO, or other related platforms are encouraged but not a requirement.

Doubling

Aitlantic flights may not be flown in conjunction with other organizations, including other virtual airlines.  However, you may use third-party flight tracking software and communities such as Volanta or Sim Toolkit Pro for your own assessments.

Fleet

ATL currently utilizes:

·         Just Flight Fokker F28 (MK1000, MK4000)

·         Just Flight Fokker F70 and F100 (January 2026)

·         PMDG Boeing 737-600

Airtlantic uses high quality pay ware aircraft for daily operationsPilots are responsible for acquiring their own aircraft.  AL repaints may be downloaded from the vAMSYS site (Google drive link)

Check Rides

The company does not require check rides.

Aircraft Substitutions

AL lists the recommended aircraft for a specific market; however, pilots may substitute accordingly as long as the airport supports the equipment.

Awards

Atlantic Virtual believes pilots should be awarded for their efforts. Pilots are also awarded bonus points for various accomplishments (E.g., focus city of the month). As of now, the company can only customize this to a small degree.  We are also proud to have our pilots earn their “type rating” with X numbers of landings. This is outlined in Rating/Tours/QUALS.

For added realism, we have a unique Type Rating awards system here at Atlantic. Pilots have the opportunity to earn type ratings, differences ratings, and tour badges, and expert ratings depending on number of landings (not hours) in that type. It's a fun way to be a part of a particular "aircraft program" that you may favor over another. For example, we have pilots that only fly the Fokker F28 series, and pilots that only prefer to fly the Boeing 737-600. Either way, we know you will find your niche here at our company.

Subsidiary Airlines

At this time, Atlantic Virtual Airways is not partnered with any other vAMSYS airline at this time.
