Official Rules & Regulations
1. Purpose of AIRSKY
AIRSKY is a VATSIM-based Virtual Airline created to provide a realistic and enjoyable flight simulation experience for pilots around the world.
Our goal is to promote:
Realistic airline operations
Professional pilot behavior
Active participation within the VATSIM network
A friendly and supportive community
All AIRSKY members are expected to uphold these values when representing the airline.
2. VATSIM Network Compliance
AIRSKY operates primarily on the VATSIM network.
All pilots must comply with the official rules of the VATSIM network, including but not limited to:
VATSIM Code of Conduct
VATSIM Code of Regulations
ATC instructions and procedures
Failure to comply with VATSIM rules may result in disciplinary action within AIRSKY.
3. Pilot Conduct
AIRSKY pilots represent the airline whenever flying using the AIRSKY callsign.
Pilots are expected to demonstrate:
Professional communication with ATC
Respect toward other pilots and staff
Proper behavior on VATSIM and community platforms
Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
4. Callsign and Flight Numbers
When flying on VATSIM under AIRSKY, pilots must use the official airline callsign:
AIRSKY
Example flight numbers:
ASK101
ASK245
ASK560
Pilots must ensure their VATSIM callsign matches the booked flight number whenever possible.
5. Flight Tracking
All AIRSKY flights must be logged using an approved tracking system:
Pegasus ACARS (vAMSYS)
Requirements:
Flights must be tracked from departure to arrival
Aircraft must be parked at the gate before ending the flight
Unrealistic flight behavior may lead to rejection of the flight report
Manual PIREPs should only be used when ACARS is unavailable.
6. Realistic Operations
AIRSKY promotes realistic airline operations.
Pilots are encouraged to follow:
Real-world routes where possible
Realistic aircraft performance
Proper flight planning procedures
Standard ATC phraseology
The use of excessive simulation shortcuts that significantly reduce realism is discouraged.
7. Fleet and Aircraft Usage
Pilots must use aircraft that are part of the AIRSKY fleet available in vAMSYS.
Aircraft substitutions should only be made when they remain realistic for the route.
8. Pilot Activity
To remain active within AIRSKY, pilots must complete at least one flight every 30 days.
Pilots who become inactive for extended periods may be automatically removed from the airline roster.
Pilots may request a temporary leave of absence if necessary.
9. Events and Community Participation
AIRSKY regularly participates in VATSIM events and community group flights.
Pilots are encouraged to participate in official events and airline operations organized by AIRSKY staff.
Event procedures may vary depending on ATC requirements and event structure.
